In such a situation, the doctors are firm on their decision of not returning to work until their five demands are met.

The doctors of RG Kar Hospital have put forward their five demands. They say that until these five demands are not met, they will continue the strike. These five demands also include the resignation of Bengal’s Health Secretary and Kolkata Police Chief.

– In view of the doctors’ rally, Kolkata Police has barricaded the road. A doctor says that our demands have not been met and the victim has not got justice. We will continue our agitation and will not return to work. We want the Health Secretary and DHE to resign.

– Doctors say that even after 30 days of the incident, the state government has not taken any major step regarding the main demands of the movement. They are trying to put all the blame on the CBI investigation. No action has been taken regarding the negligence of the police or the corruption in the health department.

Dr. Shubhendu Malik, spokesperson of the Junior Doctors’ protest, says that we have not seen a single CCTV camera being installed in the hospital after this incident. The hospital does not have separate restrooms or separate toilets for men and women.
