Janmashtami is being celebrated all over the country. From Delhi-Mathura, Dwarka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra to Kerala, there is only the echo of Kanha-Kanha. The temples decorated with flowers and electric lights are crowded with devotees and their splendor is worth seeing. The name of the dark-skinned Shyam is on everyone’s lips and the only wish is to see him, even if it is just for a glimpse. All the colors are pale in front of these Shyam lovers painted in Krishna’s color because they are only colored by Murli-Manohar, Madan Mohan. For such a situation, the great poet Raskhan has written…

I saw the peacock flute in my heart, my heart is filled with joy,
Since that day, who has not spoken to these enemies, my friend?
Now Raskhan has started loving me, some said one, some said lakhs,
And so color remained not remained, one color colored so color remained ..

What poet Raskhan means to say is that ever since he saw the divine form of Shri Krishna, his mind got away from the worldly attachments and drowned in the love of his Kanhaiya. There is no other color (desire) left now, the only color left is the color of love of Rangile (Shri Krishna).
