NCP leader Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai late on Saturday night. Several shots were fired at him in Bandra East. He was shot in the chest and abdomen. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in critical condition. He was in his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office when the attack took place. Police immediately took action on the case and detained three people.
Baba Siddiqui was the MLA from Bandra West thrice. Additionally, he served as the Minister of State for Maharashtra. He also served as Chairman, Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority, Mumbai Chapter. He entered politics as a student leader. BMC was elected as a legal person for the first time. He won the Assembly elections from Bandra West in 1999, 2004 and 2009. He had to face defeat in the 2014 parliamentary elections.
