Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir reveals deep personal struggles and pregnancy with daughter Riley Keough

In her posthumous memoirs “From here to the great unknown” Lisa Marie Presley recounts some of the most intimate and touching moments of her life, including the story of how she became pregnant with daughter Riley Keough.

Presley shared how she felt a desperate need to redeem herself after undergoing an abortion – which she later called “the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.” Determined to have a child, she “planned and conspired” to get pregnant. In her memoir, she revealed that she took careful steps to make sure she was ovulating when she and then-boyfriend Danny Keough boarded a cruise ship where his band was performing.

“I don’t care if he wants to be involved. I feel like I have to make amends because I still can’t believe I had an abortion,” Presley wrote, quoted people. She described how she communicated with her lost child, saying: “I’m so sorry, I can’t believe I f*cking did this. Please forgive me and stay with me until I get pregnant again.”

Two weeks after making this exciting decision, Presley found out she was pregnant with Riley, who was born in May 1989. In her memoir, Presley candidly admitted that her pregnancy “trapped” Danny, adding, “I didn’t really mean to, but I did.”

Presley and Danny Keough were married from 1988 to 1994 and have two children: Riley and Benjamin Storm Keough, who was born in 1992. Unfortunately, Benjamin passed away in July 2020. Riley, 35, revealed in a September interview that her mother, Lisa Marie, died in January 2023 due to complications following surgery. However, Riley believes her mother’s death was indeed the result of “heartbreak” after losing her son, Benjamin.
