Three people harvesting crops in the field died on Tuesday evening due to lightning in Lalitpur district of Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, one got severely burnt. There is chaos in the family of the deceased after the accident. As soon as the news of the accident was received, the police reached the spot and took the body in custody and sent it for post-mortem. Also, the injured was taken to the hospital.

According to the police, the deceased include two women and a man. Lalitpur Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar said that the incident took place around 4 pm near Chaighra village. Kumar said, at 4 pm some farmers were harvesting crops, when three people died due to lightning during heavy rain.

Information given to revenue officials for financial assistance

The deceased have been identified as Jashoda Sahu (48), Rajkumari Sahu (35) and Rajesh Sahu (38). He said Rajesh Sahu’s wife Seema Sahu (35) was also seriously injured and was admitted to a government hospital. The additional SP said the bodies have been sent for post-mortem and revenue officials have been informed about the incident to facilitate the process of providing financial assistance to the affected families from the disaster relief fund.
