The terrorist organization was banned in 2006

The court said, “Organizations like yours normalize violence in search of ideological causes. They create rifts among people who live together peacefully.” ALM was first banned by Britain in 2006 for operating under the name Al Ghurba. In 2010, ALM was included in the ban as an alternative name.

The court found that Chaudhary was working for ALM till July 2023. He was identified while giving an online speech to an offshoot group called Islamic Thinkers Society, which was infiltrated by an undercover team. After this he was arrested.
