Recently, an entrepreneur gained a lot of attention for a controversial post on Reddit that suggested that highly paid individuals should leave India due to high taxes and lack of innovation.
The Indian entrepreneur and startup founder said he studied at one of the best engineering colleges in India and then pursued a postgraduate degree in the United States.
After working with a leading bank, he returned to India in 2018 to start his own company.
The Reddit user also said he is currently “running successfully” after raising a significant amount of funding, adding: “I employ close to 30 people with an average salary of $15 liters. “
The article, titled “Leave India! It’s time! I tell this as someone who runs a well-funded business!” further stated that innovation in India is being stifled by “stupid” regulations.
“You have to be a bureaucrat, politician or celebrity to get things done easily. Let me give you an example, a fraud case happened on our app and a case was opened. Highlighting the issue of regional disparities, the entrepreneur claimed that he faces “regional hatred” almost every week from sabziwalas, auto drivers, taxi drivers, restaurants etc.
He also complained about Indians’ “poor work ethic” and said: “If you don’t look rich or wear designer clothes, you are the filth of this country.”
He also raised the issues of India’s high taxes, the state of its roads and the poor condition of government hospitals.
“Yesterday, I was walking on the road in Goa. There was a group of people littering the road. I asked them to keep the place clean or use the dustbin. He warned of a “terrible economic collapse” in India and a “significant” devaluation of the rupee, advising innovators to relocate to the UAE or Thailand.

The controversial post attracted multiple comments from Reddit users, some of whom agreed with his sentiments.
