Laxman Prasad Acharya has been made the new Governor of Assam with additional charge of Manipur. Gulab Chand Kataria has been made the Governor of Punjab in place of Banwarilal Purohit. Rashtrapati Bhavan has announced this. According to a release issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday night, Laxman Prasad Acharya has replaced Gulab Chand Kataria, who has also been appointed the Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh.

It said that President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the resignation of Banwarilal Purohit from the post of Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh. “Sikkim Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya has been appointed as the Governor of Assam and has also been given the additional charge of Governor of Manipur,” the statement said.

Governors of many states changed

Anusuiya Uike has been serving as the Governor of Manipur since February last year. Senior BJP leader Om Prakash Mathur will be the new Governor of Sikkim. Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan, who was also holding the additional charge of Telangana, has been appointed as the new Governor of Maharashtra in place of current Ramesh Bais.

Santosh Kumar Gangwar will be the Governor of Jharkhand.

Former Union Labor and Employment Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar will be the new Governor of Jharkhand in place of Radhakrishnan. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Tripura Jishnu Dev Verma will be the new Governor of Telangana. Former IAS officer K Kailashnathan, one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trusted aides, has been appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.

Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde will be the new Governor of Rajasthan.

Senior Maharashtra BJP leader Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde has been appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan in place of Kalraj Mishra. The release said that former Lok Sabha member from Assam Ramen Deka has been appointed the Governor of Chhattisgarh. CH Vijayashankar, former Lok Sabha member from Mysore, Karnataka, will be the Governor of Meghalaya.
