The second sharpshooter involved in the murder of a Delhi gym owner has been arrested by the police following the Mathura encounter. He was shot in the leg. The injured gunman, Yogesh, was a resident of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh. He also worked for gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Hashim Baba. Earlier, the police arrested Raju’s associate Madhur alias Ayaan after the encounter on October 12.

The Delhi Police Special Cell received a tip-off about gunman Raju who was preparing to commit crimes in Mathura. Thereafter, the special team along with local UP police laid a trap. A police officer said he was seen riding a bicycle on the Agra-Mathura highway service road near the railway station around 4 am.

The officer said Raju opened fire as soon as he saw the police team, the news agency reported. Subsequently, the police fired two shots in self-defense, and Raju was shot in the left leg and was taken to the hospital. Police found a .32-caliber pistol with seven bullets, three blank bullets and a bicycle without a license plate at the scene.

Gym owner Nadir Shah, 35, was allegedly shot dead outside his gym in Delhi’s Great Kailash-1. Police said the incident on September 12 was committed by Madhur and his associate Raju. Numerous criminal cases were registered against Nadir Shah, including robbery and attempt to murder.
