The son of a retired army officer, general manager of the Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd. in the Bombay Chowk area of Jharsuguda, Odisha, tried to open fire in the air to show his father’s influence and power. There was a stir in the city of Jharsuguda. The incident was related to encroachment, where the accused occupied the road forcefully.
According to the incident, the son of accused Ramji Singh was encroaching on the road. When Vikas Aggarwal, the owner of the land adjacent to the road, sent workers to clear the road adjacent to his land, Ramji Singh’s son protested. He fired first into the air and then fired a second shot at the workers when they threatened to complain. There were no casualties in this incident.
Staff provided information about the incident
The workers issued a statement on the incident saying, “We came to clear the road connected to the owner’s land. The first time we came, Ramji Singh’s family threatened us and drove us away. Police arrest father and son
Workers captured video of the incident on camera, in which the accused young man can be seen holding a gun. The license for the gun was held by Ramji Singh, who obtained it in 1985 in Hazaribagh. Ramji Singh has retired as Managing Director of Mahanadi Coalfield Limited. After the incident, the police detained the accused youth and his father Ramji Singh and began investigating the case.
