A grandfather strangled his six-year-old grandson to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district. Police said on Monday that the accused took this step as he was allegedly angry over his son’s second marriage.
Inspector General of Police Mohammad Mushtaq told PTI that he received information about the suspicious death of a child in Jidwa village in Prakalan district late on Sunday night. When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the child had been strangled with a rope.

“Further investigation revealed that Pritam (56) was unhappy with his son’s marriage to a woman who had a child from a previous relationship. The accused was not happy with the child and was very angry,” the SP said, according to news agency PTI. She was strangled to death on Sunday night. ”

The police have arrested the suspect and the rope used in the crime has been recovered. The official said the body has been sent to hospital for post-mortem and further legal action is underway.
