A committee of the Film Federation of India selected “The Missing Lady” from 29 films as an official entry for the 2025 Oscars. Films such as “Animal” and “Attam” were also included in the list of 29 films submitted to the committee.

Missing Lady premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year to huge critical acclaim. Kiran Rao’s film released on limited screens in March 2024 and received a decent audience. According to reports, the film, which was made on a budget of less than Rs 5 crore, has grossed over Rs 25 crore at the global box office.

Actors Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan are also highly praised for this brilliant film. Director Kiran Rao is also highly appreciated for making an excellent film on a sensitive topic for women.
