The West Bengal government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of IPS Dr Pranab Kumar to investigate alleged financial irregularities in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. It has been formed after allegations came to light against former principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh.
The team formed by West Bengal Police will be led by IPS officer and Inspector General of Police Dr Pranav Kumar. The team will also include members like Murshidabad Range DIG Waqar Raza, CID DIG Soma Das Mitra and Kolkata Police DCP Indira Mukherjee. This team has been entrusted with the task of investigation to ensure transparency and accountability within the institution.

Sandeep Ghosh may also undergo polygraphy test
CBI is also investigating against Sandeep Ghosh and the agency also wants to conduct a polygraphy test on him. For example, discrepancies have been found in the statements of the victim’s family and the former principal of the hospital, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. Due to different statements, it is being said that CBI can conduct his polygraphy test. However, the approval of his polygraphy has not yet been received from the court.
‘Hang me or do whatever you want’, said Sanjay Roy’s mother-in-law
The court has approved the polygraphy test of Sanjay Roy. After this he will be investigated and it will be found out how much truth is there in his statement. Accused Sanjay Roy’s mother-in-law says, “He and I had a very strained relationship. They were married for 2 years. It was his second marriage to my daughter. Initially, everything was fine for 6 months. When she was 3 months old, When she was pregnant, she got an abortion.”

He said, “He (Sanjay Roy) beat her (my daughter), in this matter a complaint was lodged with the police. After this my daughter started falling ill, I bore all the expenses of her medicines…Sanjay was not good. Hang him or do whatever he wants, he doesn’t have the capacity to do it alone.
