Amidst the ongoing investigation regarding the matter, Aaj Tak spoke to the staff of the crematorium in Panihati area. The last rites of the victim of this case took place at the crematorium in Panihati area. Bholanath, a worker present at the cremation ground that day, said that on the day the victim was cremated, a heavy police force and a crowd of local leaders were present at the cremation ground.
Bholanath said, “The news of the death of a girl from our area was going on since morning. The body was brought to the crematorium after 12 o’clock in the night. The post-mortem was done by 6 o’clock in the evening, due to which there was a danger of the body decomposing. “Usually the body arrives soon after post-mortem, but this time it was late.” He told that there were already two other bodies in the crematorium, but the police asked them to stop because the body of the victim was about to arrive.
Bholanath said, “The police had already informed us that the body of a girl was coming and a huge crowd would also come along with it. The area was very crowded, more than 10 police vehicles were present, making it difficult for people to come and go. I was having difficulty, so the police asked me to perform the last rites quickly.” He told that the MLA and councilor of the area were also present during the last rites of the victim. On behalf of the victim’s family, her brother made the entry in the register, but her mother was present at the cremation ground during the last rites and did not ask for any special arrangements, so the process was given priority.
Bholanath said, “The police does not give information in every incident, but when there are VIP people or a special incident happens, the police gives information in advance. This time we were asked by the police to be prepared in advance. Was.” The last rites of the victim were performed as soon as possible amidst the huge crowd and presence of police force, so that there is no further problem regarding traffic and crowd management in the area.
