Kolkata court has refused to give permission for narco test of Sanjay Roy, accused in RG Kar case. Actually, CBI was planning to conduct narco analysis test of Sanjay Roy. For this, the central investigation agency had appealed to Sealdah court for permission for narco test of Sanjay Roy. But the court has refused for narco test.

According to PTI, an official said that the purpose of conducting the narco test was to check whether the accused Sanjay Roy is telling the truth. The narco analysis test will help us confirm his statement.

The CBI official said that during the narco analysis test, a drug called sodium pentothal is injected into the person’s body, which puts him in a state of hypnosis and neutralizes his imagination. He said that in most cases the accused gives correct information. The CBI had already conducted a polygraph test of Sanjay Roy inside the Presidency Correctional Home.

Let us tell you that Sanjay Roy is accused in the case of rape and murder of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The CBI, which is investigating the case, had sought permission from the court to conduct a narco test of the accused.

What is Narco test?

In a narco test, a drug called Sodium Pentothal is injected in a limited amount in the human body under the supervision of doctors. It is also called Truth Serum. As soon as this drug enters the body, it makes the person semi-conscious. He is unable to decide between right and wrong. He only speaks what he thinks is true. Or what is recorded in his memory as truth. This drug is often used during surgery as anesthesia to make the patient unconscious. So that he does not feel pain.

How is Narco Analysis test done?

Narco test is not necessary to be 100% correct. Because in a state of intoxication, a person sometimes gives wrong answers. Sometimes he starts making up stories. In this situation, if the questioner asks the questions in the right way, then the patient can give the right answer. Because this is a soft way of asking questions. Some people also call it a soft way of third degree. During this test, a psychologist is made to sit. An attempt is made to ask the questions himself. So that the right answer can be obtained. Investigating officer or forensic expert sits with the psychologist.
