Four army personnel were injured in a clash between terrorists and security forces in a remote forest area of ​​Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district on Sunday. The encounter began when a joint military-police operation surrounded the terrorists hiding in the forests of Keshawan. According to officials, the terror group recently killed two village guards. At present, the injured soldiers have been sent to Udhampur, and three of them are said to be in critical condition.

Anti-terrorist operations are underway in Kuntwala and Keshavan forests of Kishtwar since Thursday night. The Army’s Jammu White Knights Corps said in a social media post that security forces launched a joint operation in the Bharat Ridge area after receiving specific information about the presence of terrorists. During this period, the two sides exchanged fire, and the exchange of fire was still fierce. Officials said there may be three to four terrorists trapped in the area.

Troops continue to fight terrorists

An operation against terrorists was also carried out in Nishat area of ​​Srinagar where terrorists hiding in houses were surrounded. Security forces began the operation on Saturday night. Dhachigan National Park is some distance away from the encounter site and the terrorists may have tried to escape into the forest. Officials said the encounter may have involved three terrorists. Amid anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces are constantly busy encircling terrorists and clearing their hideouts.

Action against the property of terrorist operators

Apart from this, security forces killed one terrorist and surrounded two to three terrorists during clashes in Rampola area of ​​Sopore on Saturday. Officials said the search operation was based on intelligence information and the terrorists started firing. The Jammu and Kashmir Police also sealed the properties of four terrorist operators in Handwara, north Kashmir, in a bid to eliminate the terrorists and their ecosystem.
