A dog taken by Hamas during October 7, 2023 is attacked with its owner.
Rechhel Dancing was overcome by emotions on Wednesday when he embraced his three -year -old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Billy, who had been missing since the day when Hamas’s terrorists entered his house in Kibutaz Neer Oz.
In October 2023, Ms. Danisig hid a safely, but both her ex -husband, Alex Danseing, 76, and her brother, Itzak Elgrat, 69, were abducted. Both were later confirmed dead in captivity.
Billy, however, survived. He was found last week in the southern Gaza city of Rafah – about 15 km from Kibutz – by IDF Reserve Soldier Aviad Shapira. Talking to Israeli television, Mr. Shapira said that he saw wandering near his soldiers. “I said ‘Shalom’ and she jumped on me,” he said AP,
He noticed that the dog was ready for Hebrew speakers. “He immediately turned to our unit and did not leave our side,” he said. “I felt that she was not in Gaza.”
Mr. Shapira, who served more than 300 days in Gaza, took care of the dog for four days. He even got approval to bring him back to Israel, where Billy celebrated Passah (a Jewish holiday) with his family. A scan on the vet revealed Billy’s microchip and true identity – she was Ms. Danseeing.
Mr. Shapira then called her. “I couldn’t believe it. I asked for a picture. I was really confused,” Ms. Dancig’s daughter told AP.
“It’s a miracle,” said Ms. Dance. “It is not understood … people were not alive. How did he do?”
“We were completely shocked,” Ms. DANCYG’s son -in -law told Reprimand“Overwhelmed by emotion.”
The family believed that Billy had gone forever and adopted another dog from the same breed. “Now two dogs will live together with us. This is a miracle from heaven,” he said.
Now hitting Billy on her lap, Rachel Danceig said that the dog appears happy in the house, but her ordinance affects visually. He seems to stray and lose weight, he said.
