The construction of the proposed Kedarnath temple in Delhi has now been cancelled, and with this the temple committee has also been dissolved. The information about this decision has been given by the temple committee itself by issuing a letter. After this announcement, senior Congress leader and former state president Ganesh Godiyal has given some important suggestions to the Uttarakhand government on this issue. Ganesh Godiyal first praised the Chief Minister and the government and said that they have taken the right decision. After this, he gave three main suggestions.

Ganesh Godiyal gave these suggestions

transfer money: Whatever money has been collected for the construction of the proposed Kedarnath temple in Delhi should be handed over to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC).

Return of Shila: The stone which was taken from Kedarnath Dham to Delhi should be brought back to Kedarnath Dham with respect.

Land Transfer: The land in Delhi on which this temple was proposed should be transferred to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee.

Earlier, the Uttarakhand government had passed an ordinance which ensured that no one would be able to build a temple anywhere else in the name of the Char Dham and famous temples of Uttarakhand. The government had ordered the Kedarnath Committee of Delhi not to build a temple in the name of Kedarnath in Delhi. Due to this government pressure, the trust had withdrawn its steps from the construction of the temple. Ganesh Godiyal has now again suggested on this issue and demanded action from the government on this.

There was a proposal to build a temple in Burari
Let us tell you that this temple was proposed to be built in Burari, Delhi. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the foundation stone laying ceremony of the temple in Burari. However, now Suman Mittal, President of Kedarnath Dham Delhi Trust, said in a press release, “After some Uttarakhand residents objected to this, we decided that the temple would not be built, as it could hurt religious sentiments.” He also said, “Now we are not building any temple in that name.” The trust has also stopped accepting online donations for the construction of the temple.

Congress had also expressed opposition to the construction
The priests of the Himalayan temple located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand had opposed this construction. They said that this temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country, and building a replica of it elsewhere shows disrespect towards the centuries-old temple. The opposition Congress had organized a padyatra from Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar to Kedarnath to protest against this construction, but a day before the last day of the yatra, on the night of July 31, after heavy rains caused heavy damage to the Kedarnath Yatra route, they ended it in Sitapur itself.
