Bunty Wadiva, who hails from Asadi village in Betul district of Madhya Pradesh, created history as soon as he reached the hot seat of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 16’. He became the first tribal contestant of this season. In front of Amitabh Bachchan, the host of this popular game show, he told that when he came on the show, he had only Rs 260 in his bank account.

Bunty impressed the audience with his game on the hot seat and reached the question worth Rs 1 crore. However, he could not answer this question correctly and returned with Rs 50 lakh. But Bunty has now said that he has won more than he had thought. B.C.A. graduate Bunty is preparing for a grade 3 job in Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. He said how his less educated parents became an inspiration for him.

Parents never compromised on Bunty’s education
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bunty said that his parents were not very educated but they understood the importance of education very well. ‘They had noticed that there were only a few people in our village who worked as professionals. They realised that people who were working like this had a different lifestyle and were self-dependent. If someone from a family worked as a professional, it also benefited their future generations. My parents never compromised when it came to education. They always supported me because there was no one to guide me,’ Bunty said.

Bunty told that he has been preparing for competitive exams since 2017 and watching old episodes of KBC on YouTube strengthened his confidence for the exam.

It was my dream to come on KBC
During the interview on KBC, the interviewer was very impressed with Bunty. He said, ‘He was impressed with my answers, especially when I said that I want to be the first contestant to reach the hot seat. He was also impressed to know about my journey since 2017.’

Bunty further said, ‘It was my dream to come on KBC to get respect and recognition. I always wanted to be a role model for the coming generations. With the help of KBC, what I was able to achieve is much more than my wishes.’
