Kathua terror attack: SDM launches judicial inquiry, asks public to give statements

Jammu, September 19: An official inquiry has been launched into the terror attack in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, which left two terrorists dead and a police officer killed, and has called for testimonies and evidence from the public.

On June 12 and 13, during a search and cordon operation at Saidhar-Sohar village in Kattu Ahilanagar district, two terrorists and a Central Reserve Policeman were killed in a fierce gunfight.

“I have been appointed as the magistrate by the district magistrate Kathua to conduct a law and order inquiry and will submit a report on the terror attack in Saidar-Sohar area of ​​Hiranagar in which two terrorists were killed and constable Kabir Das died in the line of duty,” said Hiranagar sub-divisional magistrate Rakesh Kumar.

Kumar issued a public notice regarding the investigation and visited the spot to record statements and collect evidence from people who had knowledge of the incident.

He added: “This notice informs the public and interested persons that anyone who wishes to provide information or evidence relevant to the case in the form of written or oral statements should do so before September 23.”
