Shazia Latif transforms from lawyer to farmer
Shazia Latif said when her ancestors were engaged in farming, they could earn only half a million rupees a year. But Shazia started farming in an innovative way and today she earns an annual income of Rs 30 lakh. Shazia Latif’s innovative agriculture is creating buzz across Kashmir and people are coming from all over to learn from her about animal husbandry methods and advanced innovative agriculture. Many educated youth started innovative agriculture under the influence of Shazia’s works.
Shazia was a lawyer before taking up farming. He said when the world shut down during the pandemic, he realized it had no impact on his family. Because her husband works at home, she has plenty of food. Poultry, dairy products, vegetables, fish, and fruits are all home grown, so there is no shortage of anything. This was what motivated Shazia to take up farming.
Today, Shazia Latif grows traditional and exotic vegetables and provides employment to other locals. His farm has become a training center for other farmers, who come to learn innovative and integrated farming techniques. Apart from farming, Shazia is also involved in livestock farming. There are many kinds of animals and birds on his farm. Shazia also earns significant profits from livestock farming.
