IPS officer dies in road accident
An IPS officer died in a road accident in Hassan district of Karnataka. The name of the deceased was Harsh Vardhan, a 2023-batch Karnataka IPS grade cadre. After receiving information about the accident, the police immediately rushed to the scene and took the body into custody. Harshvardhan is a resident of Madhya Pradesh. He was traveling in a police car to Holenasipur to report for duty for the first time.
Harsh Vardhan will take over as Assistant Inspector General of Police. Police said the police car’s tires burst near Kittane in Hassan and the driver lost control of the car. The vehicle then collided with a house on the roadside and collided with a tree. The officer suffered serious head injuries in the incident. He was immediately taken to hospital, where he died. The accident happened on Sunday night. The vehicle was completely damaged in the accident.

The IPS officer had recently completed four weeks of training at the Karnataka Police Academy in Mysuru, a police officer said. The driver, Manjegowda, also suffered minor injuries in the accident. He has been taken to hospital. A police officer said the officer’s family has been informed of the accident.
Meanwhile, three people were killed in another road accident in Karnataka. A bus collided with the guardrail on the Chikanhalli flyover in Thila, Tumkur on Monday morning. In this accident, three women died and many passengers were injured. There are 30 passengers on the bus. Buses run from Goa to Bangalore. The accident happened around 4.30am. The deceased were Shefali Singh, Urvi and Priyanka. The bus is said to belong to Sun Riser Travels.
