These days a strange political development is being witnessed in Karnataka. On one hand, CM Siddaramaiah is surrounded by corruption charges and the opposition is demanding his resignation, while on the other hand many Congress leaders are openly expressing their desire to become the next Chief Minister of the state. The tussle between the state’s Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah over the ‘CM chair’ is not hidden from anyone. But now the names of many leaders are coming out in this list.

Minister Sharanappa Darshanpur expressed desire

Karnataka minister Sharanappa Darshanpur said that ‘if the high command wants, I will become CM.’ The Minister of Small Industries and Public Enterprises in the state government said, ‘The party has 136 MLAs and all are eligible to become ministers. But the mandate is to make only 33 members ministers. This does not mean that others are not eligible. One person has to become CM. If the post is vacant and the high command asks me to become CM, then I have no objection to the situation, I am ready.’

But it is worth noting that Sharanappa is not the only Congress leader who has expressed his desire to become CM. Before him, many leaders have given statements regarding this. There are even campaigns going on on social media regarding some leaders.

Demand to make Satish Jarkiholi CM

On one hand, while the opposition continues to create ruckus over Siddaramaiah in the state, supporters of Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi are running a campaign to make him the next Chief Minister of the state. In Belagavi, Satish’s support is being promoted from social media to newspaper advertisements. Supporters of Satish Jarkiholi in Belagavi have started a campaign advocating to make him the next Chief Minister of Karnataka when the post becomes vacant. This campaign is not limited to social media. Rather, supporters have gone a step further in his favor by giving advertisements in major newspapers.

Advertisements are being given in newspapers of Karnataka about Satish Jarkiholi. This campaign supported by Rajneesh Acharya Foundation says that many people are wishing that Belagavi gets its first Chief Minister. Satish’s supporters are also involved in this campaign on a large scale.

What did MB Patil say?

Karnataka minister MB Patil is also in this race. He said that if the party decides, then the question of senior or junior does not arise. He said that one day I will definitely occupy this CM post. At present this post is not vacant. He said that this opportunity is still far for Shivanand Patil, because he has come from JDS/BJP.

Let us tell you that questions are being raised on the Siddaramaiah government in many cases including the alleged Muda scam. The opposition is constantly pressuring him to resign. The opposition has even staged a sit-in in the assembly. However, Siddaramaiah has been calling the allegations against him baseless.
