Bengaluru: The controversy surrounding the arrest of BJP leader CT Ravi for insulting Karnataka minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar is growing. After his arrest at the Belagavi Assembly House, police took him to different police stations in the district overnight. Police said he would be taken to Bengaluru from Belagavi to face trial in the People’s Representative Court, but the media and BJP supporters hampered their efforts and they were unable to take him out of Belagavi. According to the latest updates, CT Ravi has been lodged at a police station in Bhagalkot district. Belagavi city police commissioner Ida Martin said that from the law and order point of view, we will not reveal the next shooting location of CT Ravi.
BJP leader files complaint
Meanwhile, ministers Lakshmi Hebbalkar, Chamaraja Hattiholi and deputy minister CM DK were charged with murder in the Suvarna Assembly in Belagavi (Suvarna Soudha) was booked for assaulting and trying to kill him (CT Ravi). Complaints have been lodged against Shiv Kumar, Saddam and others at Kanapura police station in Belagavi.

The BJP leader alleged that at the behest of minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, police hung around Ravi throughout the night to harass him. There are also allegations of atrocities against CT Ravi at Khanapur station. The BJP leader said that CT Ravi suffered a head injury due to police violence but the police took him to a different police station for several hours before treating him.
