Kanpur: An auto driver took her to his home on the pretext of helping, then took her hostage and gang-raped the woman.

A gang-rape case took place in Kanpur where a car driver and his partner gang-raped a woman who was waiting at a bus stop. After receiving a report from the victim, the police opened a case and launched an investigation. Two defendants in the case have been arrested and are being interrogated.

The victim told that she was a resident of Shravasti district and had reached Kanpur by road bus on Saturday. On the way, he lost his wallet containing his pass. So much so that she even forgot where she was going. She wandered around the bus stop.

Taken hostage, woman was gang-raped

During this time, Mangulal, an auto driver, expressed sympathy and asked where he was going. In response, the woman claimed that she had lost her wallet, and the man asked her to get in the car and take her home on the pretext of helping her. There she was held hostage overnight and gang-raped. The victim said she was also beaten when she protested the incident.

The driver of the accused car and his companion were arrested

The victim somehow managed to free herself from the defendant’s grasp and ran to the police station to narrate her ordeal. Based on the victim’s complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the car driver Mangulal and his partner Chunilal. Police said after the woman was examined, her family had also been notified.
