The campaign for the US presidential election is in full swing. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris’ sister Maya Harris spoke at a Diwali event in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Saturday, urging people to vote for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. This Diwali event is organized by Indian-American leader Simmi Singh Junja. Approximately 100 influential members of the Indian community participated in the program.
What did Maya Harris say?
During her speech on the show, Maya Harris paid tribute to her mother, Dr. Shyamala Gopalan Harris. He said, In 1958, my mother came to this country alone at the age of 19. Maya Harris said Kamala is fighting for an inclusive democracy where you get equal opportunities no matter who you are or where you come from.

The plan’s importance is more than symbolic. In 2020, Arizona went Democratic by just 10,000 votes, proving that every vote counts in this swing state. Surveys show that competition this time will also be fierce.

The Diwali plans also signal Harris’ desire to connect people in the Indian-American community. Meanwhile, President Biden will host Diwali celebrations at the White House on October 28, but Kamala Harris will be in Michigan by then.
