Judge Khanna’s term will last until May 13, 2025. Justice Sanjeev Khanna has served as a Supreme Court judge since January 2019 and has heard many major cases. Justice Khanna was involved in many important decisions such as upholding the credibility of the EVM, scrapping the electoral bonds scheme, removing Section 370 and granting interim bail to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Who is Justice Sanjeev Khanna?
Justice Sanjeev Khanna was born on May 14, 1960. In 1983, he was registered as an advocate with the Delhi Bar Council. In 2004, he was appointed as the Standing Counsel, Delhi. In 2005, he became an additional judge of the Delhi High Court and became a permanent judge in 2006.
Thereafter, on January 18, 2019, he was promoted to a Supreme Court judge. He will retire on May 13, 2025.
Let us tell you that Justice Sanjeev Khanna comes from a prominent family in Delhi. He is the son of former Delhi High Court judge Dev Raj Khanna and nephew of former Supreme Court judge HR Khanna. He has been emphasizing on reducing pending cases and expediting justice.
