Johnson & Johnson ranks third in 2023-24 Food Safety Index

The Food Safety Authority of India (FSAI) has awarded the Food Safety Index 2023-24 to the States/Union Territories every year and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been ranked third among the States/Union Territories. The award was presented by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare JP Nadda in the presence of Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Minister of New and Renewable Energy of India Mandapam Pralhad Joshi and CEO of FAI G. Kamala Vardhana Rao. FAI was co-hosted in conjunction with India World Food Expo in New Delhi today on the eve of the 2nd Global Summit of Food Regulators (2024).

The Food Security Index is a dynamic quantitative and qualitative benchmarking model that provides an objective framework for assessing food security in all states/UTs.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has started the process of evaluation of the National Food Safety Index for 2023-2024 by communicating with the Food Safety Commissioners of all UTs/States to provide statistical evaluation data.

The UT of Jammu and Kashmir has been awarded the third rank for its outstanding performance in implementing the Financial Stability Act, 2006 during the financial year 2023-24. The Commissioner of FDA, Jammu and Kashmir, attributed the award to the selfless dedication and relentless efforts of the functional departments of the department empowered to perform statutory duties under the Financial Stability Act, 2006, 2011 Rules and Regulations in the UT.
