Despite giving powerful films like ‘Batla House’ and ‘Madras Cafe’, John says that he has to convince the producers. To get the studio heads to support his film, he has to spend a lot of money. John’s angry outburst
John said- Even today I am struggling in the film industry regarding funding and budget. I had produced films like ‘Vicky Donor’. Despite giving good films to the industry, I have to convince the studio heads to release funds for my film and understand the entire process, because every film of mine is different. Even today these people do not have 100 percent faith in me. They tell me that the budget of my film is very high.
“The studio heads don’t reply to me. That’s because I don’t use WhatsApp. The first thing is that I don’t use WhatsApp. So if I am messaging someone, they don’t reply. A lot of time passes. “No reply.”
Studio heads do not reply
“I messaged the head of a studio and he wrote that he would reply to me, but 4.5 months have passed and he has not replied yet. I don’t feel bad about this, but I deserve a reply. I feel that if people have some faith in me, I would definitely like to help in bringing some change in Indian cinema. I am not saying that I will change the whole game or that I am a game changer, but I can definitely try. “
Not only this, John also talked about his fees. He said that he does not charge fees beyond his ‘status’ for any film. He ensures that the film is not burdened with his fees. Yes, if the film does well then they charge more.
John said- If the film makes money then I will also make money from it. So, I ask for fees as per my capacity. Whatever is my standard, I do films according to that. Let us tell you that John is currently busy in the promotions of the film ‘Veda’.
