Jodha Akbar again considerate the box office: When Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai’s Magnum Ops brought a storm on the big screen 17 years ago!

Ashutosh Gowarikar starrer Historical film Jodha Akbar was one of the most critical films of 2008. The film entered the shoes of Emperor Akbar by Hrithik Roshan, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan played the role of his wife, Queen Jodha Bai. Let us see the film’s box office performance again as it completed 17 years recently on February 15, 2024.

Hrithik roshan And Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer placed a stable leg at the box office due to a positive word of mouth. In addition to the performance and chemistry of the main lead, costumes, soundtracks as well as action sequences were also highly appreciated by the public. The India net collection of the film was 57 crores.

Jodha Akbar was reportedly placed in a budget of 45 crores. With a net collection of 57 crores for a lifetime India, it attained an ROI (return to investment) of 12 crores. With this, the ROI percentage came to 93%. However, despite not being a hit, the film received a plus decision. However, it is still considered one of the milestones when it comes in the historical style of Bollywood.

The film marked Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai BachchanSecond cooperation after the 2006 film Dho 2. The Duo again collaborated in the 2010 film Gujerish. Some parts of the audience were rumored to distort some facts and criticize the film for taking creative freedom. However, despite this, most viewers bathed the film with the load of love.

The film won director Ashutosh Goverkar’s Best Film and Best Director Award at the Filmfare Awards. Whereas, Hrithik Roshan won the Best Actor Award that year. Music composer AR Rahman gave the award for the best background score. The film also included Sonu Sood, Poonam Sinha, Ila Arun and Nikitin Dher.
