Jitu Patwari’s team announces appointment of 17 vice-presidents 10 months after formation of Madhya Pradesh; capacity for 177

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress president Jitu Patwari announced that he would take charge of the state assembly committee after a gap of about 10 months. Jitu Patwari’s team has been allocated 177 people. Among them, there are 17 vice-presidents, 71 secretaries-general, 16 committee members, 33 permanent invitees and 40 special invitees.

Former chief ministers Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh have been included as executive members of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee executive committee. The 16 members include Opposition Leader Umang Singhar, former Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria, former Union Minister Arun Yadav, Govind Singh, Ajay Singh, Vivek Tankha, Meenakshi Natarajan, Kamleshwar Patel, Omkar Markam, Satyanarayan Patel, Neelanshu Chaturvedi, Kunal Chaudhary, Manoj Chauhan and Bhupendra Maravi are also included.

Digvijay Singh’s son named among Vice President

Javardhan, son of former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and powerful leader Digvijay Singh, also has a place in Jitu Patwari’s team. He has been appointed Vice President. Jayavardhan is currently a MLA. Two women were also appointed among the 17 vice-presidents.

After the assembly elections at the end of last year, the Congress Party appointed Jitu Patwari as state assembly chairman on December 16. At the time of the elections, the command of the state assembly was in the hands of former CM Kamal Nath, under whose leadership the assembly elections were held, but after the crushing defeat, the party took a big step and handed over the command to State House. Jitu Patwari is a party member in the state.

Administrative announcements during parliamentary by-elections

There are constant demands for appointment of an administrator in the state. In this context, Jitu Patwari announced his team when assembly by-elections were going on in two seats in the state. Of the two seats in Madhya Pradesh where by-elections are ongoing, the most important is the Budni seat. This seat has been the traditional seat of Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The seat is held by Ramakant Bhargava of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The second is the Vijaypur seat, where the BJP has fielded Ramniwas Rawat.
