MVA Alliance unease persists
Three political parties in Maharashtra: Vikas Aghadi, Shiv Sena (Uddhav), NCP (Sharad) and Congress have officially announced seat sharing, but the situation of the three parties is still not optimistic. On one hand, Congress leaders are strengthening their position by visiting Uddhav Thackeray’s ancestral home.
On the other hand, under pressure from NCP (Sharad), Uddhav Thackeray’s party has also talked about changing candidates in some seats. It is said that out of the 65 seats where the Uddhav Party has decided to field candidates, the Congress and the National Conference Party (Sharad) have claimed seven seats.
Fielding candidates in these 7 contested seats
The Shiv Sena (Uddhav) has also fielded candidates in 7 seats claimed by the Congress and NCP (Sharad). The Shiv Sena announced its candidates for the Ramtek, Bandra East and Nashik West seats claimed by the Congress. Similarly, Uddhav also gave symbols in Kurla seat, Parbhani seat, Paranda seat and Gevrai seat in Beed claimed by NCP (Sharad).
Now, as these seats create an uproar, Sanjay Raut talks about correction. It is reported that the revised list may be announced soon. Uddhav can withdraw his candidates from one or two seats.
The image of 33 seats is still not clear
Shiv Sena (Uddhav), Congress and NCP (Sharad) said they will contest 85-85-85 seats. If added up, the total would come to 255. Maharashtra has a total of 288 assembly seats. This means that the status of 33 seats remains unclear.
CPM, Shetkari and Samajwadi Party will also get seats. However, these three parties will not get more than 15 seats. In this case, how to deal with the remaining 18 seats has triggered heated discussions.
Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole also mentioned 18 seats at the press conference.
Congress leaders meet Uddhav
Here, many leaders, including Aslam Sheikh, had traveled to Matoshree and met Uddhav Thackeray. Aslam Sheikh hopes to win the Versova seat for his son-in-law. However, Uddhav’s party is not ready to give up the seat. Aslam is said to be lobbying Uddhav to vacate the seat through personal connections.
The biggest dispute between the Congress and Uddhav is over the North Mumbai seat.
