TRAI OTP message tracking rules: Since the use of the internet and smartphones has increased, scams, phishing, spam calls and spam text messages have also increased rapidly. Now, however, tens of millions of mobile users across the country will be free from spam forever. TRAI will implement message tracking rules to track business messages across the country. For this, the period given by TRAI to Jio, Airtel, BSNL and Vi also ended.
The new regulations will come into effect on December 11
Let us tell you that TRAI has given all telecom operators till November 30, 2024 to implement message traceability. The rule was originally scheduled to be implemented from December 1, but was later extended by 10 days at the request of service providers. TRAI will implement these rules from November 11 (i.e. tomorrow). This means that from December 11th you will not receive messages that are not telemarketing messages. TRAI also issued an official press release regarding the new rules.
False news will be controlled
After implementing message tracing, business messages and OTP-related messages can be easily tracked. This will also help telecom operators block spam and fake messages. Taking advantage of the lack of message tracking, mobile users were tricked into committing various types of fraud, but now this too will be curbed.
There will be no delay in getting OTP
Let us tell you that when TRAI was first asked to implement traceability to track OT based messages, it was thought that this could also lead to delays in receiving OTPs. But later TRAI completely denied this. Providing the information, TRAI said that OTP traceability is being implemented for the convenience of mobile users. Among other things, this new rule will bring transparency. TRAI said the OTP will be delivered to users on time even after traceability is achieved.
