For the first time in the history of Bangladesh, the death anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, was celebrated in Dhaka. Not only this, Jinnah’s poems were also recited and Qasidas were composed during this program in Urdu. This program was organized by Nawab Salimullah Academy. Bangladesh was born against the imposition of Urdu on the Bengali language, but today in the same Bangladesh, Qasidas of Jinnah are being recited in Urdu language.

The 76th death anniversary of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah was celebrated in Dhaka. Urdu songs and poems were presented along with discussion sessions at a function organised to commemorate the 76th death anniversary of Muhammad Ali Jinnah at the Tofazzal Hussain Manik Mia Hall of the Dhaka National Press Club on September 11 afternoon. The programme described various events of Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s life from his birth to his death.

On this occasion, Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner posted in Dhaka, Kamran Dhangal, was present as the chief guest. Meanwhile, a video of a person speaking in Urdu at the event has gone viral on social media. Many people have shared that video. In the 1 minute 17 second viral video, the person is saying in Urdu, “After 15-16 years, we are speaking Urdu here and can participate in the program. Heartfelt thanks to the organizers of this program. Mirpur-Mohammadpur was the residence of our forefathers, they died for Pakistan. This country separated from India and became Pakistan.”

The person further says, “Without Muhammad Ali Jinnah there would have been no country for Muslims in the Asian continent. Because of Muhammad Ali Jinnah we got Pakistan, where we Muslims can follow our religion with respect. In 1971, India divided our country into two parts. For fifty-five years, our forefathers have dreamed of this Pakistan. That is why today we are very happy to see the whole of Pakistan here and to come to this program. Insha Allah this series will continue in the future as well.”
