Jharkhand polls rained, Maharashtra also passed Division 1, know how the polls went in UP

Along with the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, by-elections for nine assembly seats in UP have also been completed. The voting rate in Maharashtra was 63.93% and that in Jharkhand was 68.45%. 49.30% of the votes went to UP, although these figures are as of 5 pm. This may increase. Regarding the UP by-elections, the Election Commission said Ghaziabad recorded the lowest voter turnout at 33 per cent. Polling was held in the state’s Kethari, Kajhar, Mirapur, Sissamao, Khel, Ghaziabad, Majhivan, Phulpur and Kundalki seats. The voting share is likely to increase.

According to the Election Commission, the turnout in Ghaziabad was 33.30%, Katahari 56.69%, Khel 46.35%, Kundalki 57.32%, Kahal 53.92% and Majhivan 50.41% , Mirapur is 57.02%, Phulpur is 43.43%, and Sissa Mau is 49.03%. The voting took place peacefully. On the other hand, the Samajwadi Party is suspected of rigging the elections.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said some policemen were working like BJP workers. They are threatening voters. Threatened to be beaten with sticks. Such officials should be identified and suspended. State Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said five police officers responsible for electoral duties have been suspended.

He said that among the suspended policemen, two policemen each were from Kanpur and Muzaffarnagar and one policeman from Moradabad. Of the nine seats where by-elections have been held, eight seats are vacant due to the resignation of the incumbent members after being elected. In West Samau, SP MLA Irfan Solanki was convicted in a criminal case. As a result of his disqualification as an MP, a by-election was held.

A total of 90 candidates are contesting in the UP by-elections. A maximum of 14 candidates are in the fray from Ghaziabad. At least five candidates are trying their luck in the Khair and Sisamau seats respectively. In the 2022 elections, the Socialist Party won the Sisamau, Katehari, Karhal and Kundarki seats. The BJP won Phulpur, Ghaziabad, Majhivan and Khel seats. The Meerapur seat is occupied by RLD, which is now an ally of the NDA.

Jharkhand assembly elections

In the second parliamentary election, it won a bumper harvest of 38 seats. 68.45% of the votes were cast here. This time voters broke the voting record in the 2019 parliamentary elections. The turnout in the last election was 67.04%. The highest voter turnout was in Jamtala County at 76.16% and the lowest in Bokaro County at 60.97%.

After the polls, CM Soren appealed to workers of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress. He said that all Indian Union workers, including JJM, should take note till the time the vault is sealed and note all activities after the vault is sealed and remain vigilant. The battle is not over yet. Jharkhand will fight and win.

63.93 Maharashtra polls

As of 5 pm, the turnout rate for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra was 63.93%. Gadchiroli received more than 69% of the vote. The by-election to the Nanded Lok Sabha seat garnered 53.78% of the votes cast. A total of 186 polling stations out of 100,000 have been set up in the state.

How many votes were cast in which seat?

The state’s seat Aheri received 68.43% of the votes, Gadchiroli 69.22% and Armori 71.26%. The voting rate in Mumbai urban area was 49.07%, and the voting rate in Mumbai suburbs was 51.76%. The voting percentage was 41.64% in Colaba, 55.23 in Mahim, 47.50 in Worli, 51.70 in Shivadi and 50.08% in Malabar Hills.

The turnout in the Mumbai suburbs of Bhandup was 60.18%, that in Dahisar was 50.98% and that in Bandra East was 49.51%. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s assembly constituency Kopri-Pachpakhadi recorded a turnout of 55.77 per cent. Here, he faces competition from Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) candidate Kedar Dighe. The voting rate in Thane district was 49.76%.

The turnout in Nagpur South West district was 51.54%. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is taking part in the fight here. Talking about the constituency, the overall turnout here was 56.06%. Baramati seat received 62.31% of the votes. The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Mahayutthi alliance is trying to retain power in the state. The Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance is expected to return to power.
