Jharkhand: Independent MLA Saryu Rai joins JDU, Sanjay Jha gets membership

Former Jharkhand minister Saryu Rai has joined JDU. National working president of the party, Sanjay Kumar Jha has given this information on Sunday. Saryu Rai is an independent MLA from Jharkhand. JDU working president Sanjay Kumar Jha got him the membership of the party.

Minister Ashok Chaudhary, Shravan Kumar and Jharkhand JDU state president Khiru Mahato were also present on this occasion. Recently, Saryu Rai had met Nitish Kumar. At the same time, speculations were made about his joining JDU.

Saryu Rai has very old relations with Nitish Kumar. Saryu Rai’s joining JDU for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections is being considered very special. JDU has decided to contest with NDA in Jharkhand assembly elections and stake claim on 11 seats.

Important role in exposing fodder scam

Former BJP leader Saryu Rai had left the party before the 2019 assembly elections and won a big victory against the then CM Raghubar Das. Saryu Rai is known for his role in exposing the fodder scam. Saryu Rai is considered to have played a big role in the punishment given to Lalu Yadav in the fodder scam. He took active part in the investigation.

Party has big expectations from Saryu Rai

Sanjay Kumar Jha welcomed Rai into the party and expressed confidence that his joining will strengthen the party’s base in Jharkhand. JDU, which has emerged as the third largest constituent of NDA with 12 MPs, is now focusing on strengthening its position in Jharkhand before the assembly elections after the Lok Sabha elections.
