Jharkhand: How Hemant Soren’s cabinet will be constituted, know the equation shaping up across regions

CM Hemant Soren.

From Ranchi to Delhi, the debate is ongoing over who will be the minister in Hemant Soren’s new government in Jharkhand. Under the new ministerial formula, the cabinet this time is prepared to prioritize regional balance and experience as well as caste equality. Jharkhand has 24 districts and a total of 12 ministers can be appointed.

It is said that if this plan is implemented, at least five constituencies will withdraw from the election even before Soren enters the cabinet.

There is no equation between MLAs in 3 districts and MLAs in 2 districts.

In the recent assembly elections, the Hemant Soren alliance won 56 of the 81 seats in Jharkhand, but there were three districts in the state where the Indian alliance failed to win even a single seat. The 3 districts are: Koderma, Hazaribagh and Chatra.

BJP candidate Neera Yadav won a seat from Koderma. The NDA alliance won all four seats in Hazaribagh. Similarly, NDA also won 2 seats from Chachra.

Since there is not even a single seat in these three constituencies, it will be difficult to become a minister in Hemant’s cabinet from here. In the previous government, Chatra MLA Satyanand Bhogta was appointed minister by Hemant Soren. Boguta served as minister for five full years.

Apart from Koderma, Chatra and Hazaribagh, the equations of Giridih and Palamu are also not popular. JMM did win 2 seats from Giridih but neither of them were eligible. Kalpana Soren has been elected as MLA from Giridih Gandey constituency.

Kalpana had less space as a minister in Hemant Soren’s cabinet. Similarly, Sudivya Sonu also entered the House after defeating Giridih for the second time. The Cabinet equation is also not in favor of Sudivya Sonu.

Similarly, India won 3 out of 5 seats in Palamu. Among them, RJD won 2 seats and Congress won 1 seat.

Competition among competitors in these regions

Godda, Deoghar and Pakur districts have a maximum of 3-3 contenders for ministerial posts. This time the Indian Union won all 3 seats in Godda. RJD’s Sanjay Yadav won from Godda, Congress’s Pradeep Yadav won from Paudeyahat and Congress’s Deepika Pandey won from Mahagama.

Sanjay Yadav is trying to become a minister using RJD quota. Pradeep and Deepika are hopeful in Congress. Deepika also served as a minister in the previous government. Both leaders were camping in Delhi.

Likewise, Deoghar has three contenders. RJD’s Suresh Paswan emerged as the frontrunner for the ministerial post, defeating the BJP from Deoghar seat. Hafizul Hasan, who was elected MLA from neighboring Madhupur province for the second time, also contested. Hafezul also served as a minister.

Udayshankar, also known as Chunna Singh, defeated a senior BJP leader from Sarath to become a minister from the general quota. There are also three contenders for the ministerial post in Santhal Pargana Pakur district. The wife of powerful leader Alamgir Alam entered the House of Representatives after winning elections from Pakur.

Alamgir Alam was a minister in Hemant’s government. Alam wanted to make his wife a minister from his quota. Stephen Marandi, a nine-time MLA from Maheshpur seat, also wants to become a Mantra. He also expressed his views. Hemlal Murmu, who entered the Assembly after winning from Litipala, is also a contender for the ministerial post.

Indian Alliance won 2 seats in Jamtala district. Former minister Irrfan Ansari from Jamtala and Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahato from Narada returned to the House after winning elections.

This time both men are running for cabinet ministers.

Congress got 4 posts and RJD got 1 post.

Male, a member of the Indian alliance, refused to join the cabinet. ML will support the government from the outside. In this case, like last time, Congress will get 4 ministerial posts and RJD will get 1 ministerial post in the government.

In Jharkhand, there will be up to seven Jharkhand Mukti Morcha ministers in the government. In the previous government, five ministers, including the chief minister, were tribals. Two Dalits and two upper castes have a seat in the cabinet. Contributed 2 posts to the OBC community.

It is said that the caste structure will be similar this time. However, this time four ministers from the old government lost the election and one minister did not run. In this case, 5 faces are considered newly decided.
