In Jharkhand, polling will be held on November 13 for 43 seats in the first phase. About 66.65% of voters cast their votes in the first phase of voting. This is 2.75% higher than the voting record in the 2019 parliamentary elections for 43 seats. According to the Electoral Commission, women had higher turnout than men in 37 of the 43 seats.
According to the Election Commission, in the first phase, female voters actively participated in all polling stations in the state, with 4.8% more women voting than men. He said this underscored their growing involvement in shaping the democratic process.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission said the first phase of voting in the state was peaceful with all polling parties returning safely and investigations completed in the presence of candidates or their authorized agents.
Second phase voting on November 20
Currently, the committee has begun preparations for the second phase of voting on November 20. After the second phase of voting, counting will take place on November 23. Votes will be counted simultaneously in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Counting of votes for the Assembly by-elections and Wayanad Lok Sabha by-elections will also take place on this day.
A senior Election Commission official said postal ballots will be made available along with the results after the final votes are counted. Postal ballots include those issued to service voters, absentee voters (over 85 years of age), persons with disabilities, personnel deployed in essential services and voters deployed on electoral duty. The electoral authority said that in accordance with established guidelines, a daily tally of such postal votes received will be provided to all candidates.
