Hospital superintendent Dr. RK Ranjan said that according to preliminary investigation, all of them died due to shortness of breath. We also suspect that these people were given sedatives to increase their stamina. At present, we are investigating the cause of death. The deceased include 20-year-old Amresh Kumar, 25-year-old Arun Kumar and 25-year-old Pradeep Kumar.
After this incident, the officials have decided to conduct the physical test from 4:30 am. Earlier it used to be held at 9 am. Chief Minister Hemant Soren has directed the officials to take immediate cognizance of the matter.
Police said that about 100 candidates who participated in the race and gave the physical test in the constable recruitment examination of the Excise Department in Palamu district have fainted so far. Officials said that the recruitment process will continue till September 9.
In Giridih district also a youth fainted. Here a youth named Sumit suddenly fainted and was admitted to the ICU of Sadar Hospital Giridih. The condition is said to be critical. Regarding this matter, CM Hemant Soren has instructed the DC of Giridih to take immediate cognizance through his Twitter handle.
