Javed Miandad is happy with Pakistan’s decision and talks about Champions Trophy

This time Pakistan will host the 2025 Champions Trophy. However, BCCI categorically refused to participate in this tournament and did not allow the Indian team to tour Pakistan. Since then, the International Cricket Council and the Pakistan Cricket Board have decided after multiple rounds of meetings that the ICC matches held in India and Pakistan will be played in a hybrid mode until 2027. Former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad is very satisfied with the decision of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He expressed relief that the ICC has finally succeeded in ending the impasse with India over the Champions Trophy, under which the Indian team will play all their matches at neutral venues. In return, the Pakistan team will also play all matches of the ICC Championship in India in this cycle of 2027 at neutral venues.

What did Javed Miandad say?

Former Pakistan batsman Javed Miandad said on the entire issue, I think the Pakistan Cricket Board showed wisdom and chose solutions instead of being isolated. In this regard, PCB benefits more than BCCI. He said that Pakistan is hosting a major event again after many years. We have sent a clear message that if you do not come to play in our country, we will not play in India. This arrangement will apply to the 2025 Champions Trophy, next year’s Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and the 2026 T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

The Indian team has not toured Pakistan since 2008

India refused to participate in the tournament in Pakistan in February and March, citing security reasons. India has not hosted any cricket matches in Pakistan since the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. Former Pakistan captain Wasim Bari said all he can say is that if Indian players and fans come to Pakistan, they will be given a warm welcome. Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Moin Khan said the Pakistan Cricket Board hosting another international cricket tournament is a positive sign for cricket in Pakistan.
