BSP supremo Mayawati is set to visit Jammu next week, with plans to energize party workers ahead of the upcoming elections. A high-level meeting is scheduled to finalize the date of her visit, during which she will provide strategic insights aimed at securing victory for the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the region.

According to Darshan Rana, the BSP state president, the meeting will focus on galvanizing the party’s base and outlining a robust strategy for the elections. Mayawati’s visit is anticipated to instill enthusiasm among party members, as she will share tips and tactics for achieving electoral success.

The BSP has a historical presence in Jammu and Kashmir, having first opened its account in the assembly elections of 1996 and 2002, although it faced defeat in 2008. In 1996, the party secured four MLAs, and it won another seat in 2002. This time, the BSP is particularly concentrating on key constituencies in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, and Udhampur, instructing its workers to intensify efforts for a strong performance in these areas.

As the BSP prepares to contest the elections independently, it aims to provide a direct challenge to major parties, including the Congress, National Conference (NC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and People’s Democratic Party (PDP). The party’s leadership has initiated a series of meetings to strategize and ensure a solid campaign leading up to the elections, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing support in constituencies where the BSP has a foothold.
