After the launch, ISRO will set up a temporary tracking base on Cocos (Keeling) Island near Australia to monitor Gaganyaan 24×7. A team of Indian scientists visited the island. It is also said that it is very suitable for building a ground tracking station. Enrico Palermo, director of the Australian Space Agency, provided this information to an English newspaper.

The facilities required for the trekking mission will be developed on Cocos (Keeling) Island. Australia has also come forward to help India in this endeavor. Because from here the trajectory of Gaganyaan can be fully monitored. Telemetry and control can be controlled. The Australian Space Agency wants to carry out this mission together with ISRO.

Enrico said we are also ready to help ISRO in case of emergency. Plans have been made for this as well. We will closely monitor the trajectory of Gaganyaan. Anything can go wrong. If the astronauts have to abort the mission or the crew is rescued, we will stand with the Indian scientists.

The Cocos (Keeling) Islands are an archipelago of 27 small coral islands located in the Indian Ocean, just off the coast of Australia. People live only on two of the islands: West Island and the main island. There are about 600 people here, known as Cocos Malays. Most are Sunni Muslims. But they speak Malay. All maintenance of the islands is done by the Australian government.

Relay satellite keeps close watch on Gaganiya

ISRO chief Dr. Somnath had said some time ago that ISRO will first launch relay satellites for the Gaganyaan mission. So that Gaganyaan can be contacted from all sides of the earth. So that he can be monitored. Apart from this, we will also maintain contact through GSAT satellites. These satellites will be launched from the US via SpaceX’s Falcon rocket.
