There are continuous bombings and air strikes by Israel in Gaza. Now news is coming out that more than 100 Palestinian civilians have been killed in a fresh air attack. Citing Palestinian news agency WAFA, Reuters reported that more than 100 people have been killed and dozens injured in an Israeli attack targeting a school housing displaced people in eastern Gaza.
According to the media office of the Hamas-run Gaza government, the attack occurred while people were praying. “The Israeli strikes targeted displaced people while they were performing Fajr (dawn) prayers, leading to a sharp increase in the number of casualties,” the office said in a statement.
Israel is continuously attacking
Last week four schools were attacked in Gaza. On 4 August, an Israeli attack on two schools that served as shelters for displaced people in Gaza City killed 30 people and injured several others. Earlier, 17 people were killed in an Israeli attack on Hamama school in Gaza city. On August 1, 15 people were killed in an Israeli attack on the Dalal al-Mughrabi school. Israel claims there are “terrorists” inside the compound which is acting as a “Hamas command control centre”.

On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel by carrying out armed incursions from the Gaza Strip into the Gaza area of southern Israel. This was seen as the biggest clash by Palestine in decades. During this period, about 1,200 people were killed and many were taken prisoner. Israel responded to this on a war footing and the conflict continues even at present. Since then, Israel has been continuously attacking buildings including schools in Gaza.
More than 40 thousand have died
More than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the 10-month-long war. Several rounds of talks have been held for a ceasefire in the war-ravaged coastal Palestinian area, but no success has been achieved so far.
