Israeli tanks start entering northern Gaza again, attacks kill 10; migrants say: ‘We can’t go back now’

Cairo: On Thursday, the Israeli army stepped up its bombardment of the Gaza Strip. Israeli tanks have once again begun moving rapidly into the northern Gaza colony. The Israeli army has ordered an immediate evacuation of personnel there. Ten people have been killed in Gaza in recent Israeli attacks. Fears of this have led to a new wave of displacement in northern Gaza. Palestinians now fear they will never be able to return.

Palestinian health officials said an Israeli airstrike on a school for displaced families in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City killed at least 10 people and injured many others. The Israeli military said the attack targeted the Hamas command center inside the compound, a former United Nations-run school. It accuses Hamas of using civilian facilities for military purposes, which the group denies.

A stampede broke out as soon as the Israeli tanks entered

As soon as the Israeli tanks entered the residential area, a stampede broke out. As Israeli tanks rolled into Beit Lahiya, dozens of families began to flee. About a month later, Israel began attacking northern Gaza again. As a result, Palestinians began heading to schools and other shelters in Gaza City, fleeing with whatever belongings and food they could bring. One displaced person said drones hovering overhead were broadcasting evacuation orders, which were also posted on social media and sent to residents’ phones as audio and text messages.

Israel bombs everywhere

“After most or all of Jabaliya’s residents were displaced, they are now carrying out bombings everywhere. Killing people on the streets and in their houses,” the displaced said. Palestinian officials said Israel was executing a plan to force everyone to evacuate. “Ethnic cleansing” No aid has arrived in Jabaliya, Beit Lahiya or Beit Hanoun since the operation began on October 5. It said it was forced to evacuate Jabaliya on Wednesday and began clearing nearby Beit Lahiya in an effort to combat Hamas militants. The Israeli military has denied reports that displaced people are not being allowed to return to northern Gaza.
