Pagers, which were popular in the 1990s, are back in the news around the world. On Tuesday, pager explosions occurred in areas around Lebanon and Syria. No one knew at the time that this was part of a huge conspiracy. Some claimed that the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad had tampered with the pagers and installed explosives in them. The pagers were said to be approved by a Taiwanese company. But the Taiwanese company has made new revelations about the matter.

After the pager explosions in Lebanon, the Taiwanese company Gold Apollo, which manufactured the pagers, was put on trial. But the chairman of Gold Apollo said the devices were not prepared by her company but by one of its partner companies in Hungary.

What is Gold Apollo’s relationship with this Hungarian company?

Gold Apollo chairman Su Qingguang said Gold Apollo has a long-term partnership with Hungarian company BAC Consulting KFT, which uses the Gold Apollo trademark and is based in Budapest, Hungary.

Gold Apollo said in a statement that the models equipped with pagers were said to have exploded according to media reports. They were prepared and sold by the Hungarian company.

Mr. Kuang, founder and chairman of Taiwan Golden Apollo, which has attracted attention in this attack, once said that the products that exploded are not ours. These products only use our brand name. We are a responsible company. But this incident is very shameful.

He said that our company does not produce these pagers. These pagers are made by a European company. Our company has the right to use our company’s brand.

How did Mossad carry out the attack?

According to the New York Times, Israel installed explosives in these pagers as part of a Mossad intelligence operation against Hezbollah. Hezbollah ordered about 3,000 pagers from a Taiwanese company called Gold Apollo. But the pagers were tampered with before they arrived in Lebanon. The pagers were sent from Taiwan to Lebanon between April and May this year. It seems that the plot for this attack was carried out several months ago.

According to U.S. officials, the pagers were AP924 models from a Taiwanese company. Each of the pagers shipped from Taiwan to Lebanon was loaded with one to two ounces of explosives placed next to the batteries installed in the pagers.
According to reports, a message was received on the pagers at 3:30 pm in Lebanon. The message activated the explosives installed in the pagers.

Allegedly, a beeping sound was heard for a few seconds before the pager exploded. According to sources, Mossad actually injected a small plate inside the pager that contained explosives. This explosive would be difficult to detect with any equipment or scanner.
