The Railway Ministry on Wednesday rejected claims of free travel for passengers during the Kumbh Mela. The ministry clarified that there is no such provision. All of this information is “baseless” and “misleading.” The Ministry of Transport issued a statement in this regard, saying that reports that passengers will be allowed to travel free of charge during the Kumbh Mela are completely false.
The Indian Railways said this information is completely false and the Indian Railways will not provide such facilities under any circumstances. “It has come to the attention of the Indian Railways that some media outlets are airing news that passengers can travel for free during the Kumbh Mela,” the statement said. “We categorically deny this news.” The railway department also made it clear that according to the regulations of the railway department, traveling without a valid ticket is a crime.
No provision for free travel
The Ministry of Railways also emphasized that there is no provision for free travel for passengers during the Kumbh Mela. The ministry said in a statement that “free travel is not provided during the Kumbh Mela or any other religious event.” The Ministry of Railways objected to this and said such rumors not only affect public safety but also violate the working rules of the Indian Railways.
Passengers will not experience any inconvenience
The ministry also said that Indian Railways is committed to ensuring ease of travel for passengers during the Kumbh Mela. In view of the large number of visitors to this event, special arrangements are being made. Under this, special passenger areas, additional ticket counters and other necessary facilities will be set up so that passengers do not face any inconvenience. Meanwhile, the ministry said the railway authorities will take all necessary measures to facilitate passengers.
