Iran admits Israeli strikes caused “limited damage”, military targets destroyed in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran

Israel launched a massive attack on Iran on Saturday. Multiple explosions were heard in Tehran, the capital of Iran. According to the Associated Press, Iran said Israel attacked military targets in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces, causing “limited damage.”

According to the Tehran Times, no information about the explosion has been received yet. However, some sources indicate that part of the exercises were conducted near Tehran. A senior U.S. military official told Al Jazeera that the United States is aware of the bombing in Iran and is paying close attention to developments.

Explosions also occurred in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon

Lebanese news outlet Al Mayadeen also reported explosions on the outskirts of Diyala and Saladin governorates.

Iran accepted the attack

Iran acknowledged attacks on military centers in Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam provinces. According to Israeli media reports, the attack against Iran was carried out in three stages. The report quoted U.S. and Israeli officials as saying, “The first phase focuses on Iran’s air defense system, and the second and third phases focus on missile and drone bases and production bases.”

US issues warning to Iran

According to Israeli media reports, senior White House officials said that we have sent a message to Iran that if Iran responds, we will protect Israel. A senior Biden administration official said direct fighting between Iran and Israel should end.

He said that the United States has many direct and indirect communication channels with Iran and has made its position clear. The Israeli Army warned Iran as it provided information about the attack, saying we were “prepared for both offense and defense.”

Israel launches 100 aircraft attacks

According to the Jerusalem Post, more than 100 Israeli aircraft participated in Saturday’s attacks on Iranian military targets. This attack used F-35 fighter jets with an attack range of 2,000 kilometers. A U.S. official told Reuters that the United States was informed before the attack on Iranian military targets but was not involved in the operation.

According to the “Times of Israel” report, the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) quoted an unnamed Israeli official as saying that Israel did not attack Iran’s nuclear facilities or oil fields. Its focus is on military objectives. The Israeli army also confirmed that their targets were military.
