The new iPhone 16 series launched by Apple on September 10 is now available in India. The series includes iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which come with new buttons, slightly updated design and improved hardware. The new iPhone models went on sale in India as early as 8:00 am IST at Apple Saket and Apple BKC and other authorized retail stores. The phones have been available for pre-order in India since September 13.

The iPhone 16 is priced in India starting at Rs 79,900 (base model with 128GB storage), while the iPhone 16 Plus is priced at Rs 89,900 (128GB storage). Both devices also offer 256GB and 512GB storage options. The iPhone 16 series is available in color options such as black, pink, cyan, ultramarine, and white.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro with 128GB storage is priced at Rs 1,19,900 and the iPhone 16 Pro Max with 256GB storage starts at Rs 1,44,900. The phones can also be purchased with 512GB and 1TB storage. The Pro models are available in Black Titanium, Desert Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium colours.
iPhone 16 series displayed at Apple Saket
If you buy the new iPhone 16 series from the Apple Store, you can get an instant discount of Rs 5,000 using American Express, Axis Bank, and ICICI Bank cards. Apple is also offering buyers free installments of 3 or 6 months and a discount of up to Rs 67,500 if you exchange your old phone.
Apart from the official Apple online store, the new iPhone 16 models can also be purchased at authorized stores, e-commerce websites, and Apple Saket and Apple BKC.
iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus features
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus now feature action buttons and all-new camera controls. They also come with the new Apple A18 SoC and a redesigned dual rear camera setup for spatial capture. Both phones run iOS 18 out of the box and are scheduled to get Apple Intelligence features with the iOS 18 update.
The iPhone 16 features a 6.1-inch display with improved Ceramic Shield protection and 2,000 nits of peak brightness, while the iPhone 16 Plus comes with a larger 6.7-inch display. Both phones still only offer 60Hz OLED panels, though. You get a 48-megapixel main rear camera with 2x in-sensor zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that’s now capable of macro photography. A front-facing 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera can be used for selfies.
iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max features
Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max now feature larger displays and narrower bezels. The Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. Both phones feature Retina XDR OLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,000 nits of brightness. Both phones are powered by the Apple A18 Pro chipset and run iOS 18 out of the box.
The iPhone 16 Pro models feature a triple-camera setup, including a 48-megapixel main camera, a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto “quad prism” periscope camera (supporting 5x optical zoom). The front-facing 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera. They also now support 4K 120fps recording.
All iPhone 16 models now come with an action button and a new camera control button for easy camera control.
