iOS 18 is now available for download in India for the following iPhone models:

Apple on Monday rolled out iOS 18 globally, including in India. The new update for iPhone was first unveiled at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, followed by multiple developer and public beta updates in the following weeks. The update, which is now available for download for iPhone users in India, brings system-wide enhancements including new ways to customize the home and lock screens, improved apps, and more. Apple will introduce features using Apple Intelligence, the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) suite, to supported iPhone models next month.

iOS 18 Update: How to Download

Apple announced in the press room that iOS 18 is now available for download worldwide, including India. You can install it by following these steps:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone
2. Navigate to General Tab to find Software Updates Options
3. The iPhone will automatically check for any pending updates
4. Click Download and install Option, read the terms and conditions and agree
5. Then iOS 18 will be downloaded and installed on your iPhone

iOS 18 Update: Eligible Devices

Apple says that all iPhone models that have received the iOS 18 developer beta and public beta updates are eligible for the iOS 18 public release. This includes Apple’s latest flagships, such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as older models, such as the iPhone XR. The iPhone 16 series, which will be released on September 20, will also come with the new iOS 18 update. The full list of devices includes:

iOS 18: Is Apple Intelligence included?

Although iOS 18 is now available for download, Apple Intelligence will not be included in the update. The Cupertino-based tech giant heavily promoted its new AI suite at the WWDC 2024 event and on the new iPhone 16 models. However, features such as writing tools, object removal tools, and web page summarization will not be available until the iOS 18.1 update next month. In the meantime, some of the most anticipated features, such as the new generative AI-powered image playground, will be available to users later next year.
