78th Independence Day is celebrated in the country. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Independence Day, Mizoram Government has made a big announcement. Chief Minister Lalduhoma said on Thursday that the state government will launch a scheme to provide interest free loans up to Rs 50 lakh to eligible people in view of financial growth and improvement in living standards.

Addressing the people present there on the occasion of 78th Independence Day, Chief Minister (Mizoram CM) Lalduhoma said that apart from inclusive governance, our government is also committed to ensuring the growth of the state, maximum accountability and transparency in government processes as well as better delivery of common services. Is determined to deliver on his goal. After coming to power in December 2023 last year, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) government has taken steps forward on many changes.

Mizoram government will provide financial assistance
According to PTI, Chief Minister Lalduhoma said in his address that the government is making massive efforts for the development of the state and in this regard, taking a big step, it is also going to start a loan scheme. Through this scheme, the government will act as a guarantor to help deserving people take steps forward for economic development. CM said that there is a proposal to amend the Mizoram Government Guarantee Act, 2011, so that the eligible people can get loans up to Rs 50 lakh and in this, along with giving the guarantee, the government will also pay the interest.

While addressing the Independence Day celebrations, the Chief Minister, along with giving information regarding the launch of interest-free loan scheme, also made many other big announcements. Under this, he said that the government will also talk about starting the Universal Health Care Scheme soon. He said that along with the general public, government employees and pensioners will also be included in the new and comprehensive health service scheme.

Efforts to bring external investment into the state
Referring to the steps taken for the growth of the state, Lalduhoma said that his government has launched Mizoram Investment Policy 2024 in February to attract investors from within and outside the state. The Chief Minister said that his government is committed to promoting procurement of agricultural or horticultural products, food processing, agriculture and skill development as well as creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
